About Child Sponsorship

Mukti Provides care for handicapped children

What does Mukti Mean?

   Urgent Needs

Mukti Mission provides a full range of services to nearly 650 children residing on the main campus and in the satellite extension homes. There are close to 700 community children that attend Mukti's different schools and daycare programs.

WHAT DOES "MUKTI" MEAN?

"Mukti" means "salvation", "freedom" or "liberation"  in the Marathi language and is pronounced "Mook-ti" (as in "book tea.")

The mission continues to hold to the vision of the founder that every child and woman should come to know the Lord Jesus and bring others to a knowledge of Christ.

Many have gone on to live productive lives as Christian workers and homemakers

MUKTI CHILDREN LEARN ABOUT JESUS

Mukti children learn about Jesus in school and through participation in daily chapel events.

Mukti takes in abandoned  babies and works to place them in adoptive homes whenever possible.  However, many Mukti girls will experience the love of God while growing up in their Mukti "family," many named after flowers.  Matrons are assigned to each family to provide daily care and supervision of the children while they are not attending the Mukti schools.

EACH MUKTI CHILD IS RECOGNIZED ON THEIR BIRTHDAY

Mukti children, although they may have been separated from their parents and birth families, are taught that they are treasured gifts from God and members of the family of God and extended Mukti family.

On each birthday the girls wear their special dresses and are presented gifts during the Mukti chapel services to remind them of their importance to God and His children.
