Child of AIDS Stricken Parents Finds HOPE
She's so young... only in
4th Grade. Yet Pramodini's actions and
character seem mature, others-centered beyond her years.
When her sisters are outside playing, Pramodini is inside
scrubbing floors, helping wash clothes or tending to someone
who's sick. Why? Because her matron has told her to? No. She
would rather work!
Her life's beginning included
tragic, cruel ingredients. Both her parents had died by the
time she was four. Before that end, she had watched them
both suffer in terrible agony: AIDS ravaged their bodies. At
this tender age, she had already had to face pain she
couldn't begin to describe, let alone grasp. What
happened to her mommy and daddy? Who can comprehend
death at age four?
Praise to God: Pramodini was
brought to Mukti mission. At first, she was fearful and kept
to herself. Although caring arms reached out for her, she
remained unresponsive. She closed her heart to the Lord
Jesus and often refused to listen to Bible stories and
messages. Wonderfully, however, just a few months ago
she attended a retreat and gave her heart to Christ. Her
matron mother, (Skyflower family) is thrilled at Pramodini's
transformation: stubbornness increasingly changing to
obedience, spiritual hardness warming to spiritual
receptiveness. She now listens intently to the Word. Not a
sharp student, with below average reading skills, Pramodini
asks one of her sisters to read the Bible to her and help
her understand. She wants to understand and please her Lord.
She loves praise songs and is developing an interest in
worship dancing.
Sensitive to other's needs,
Pramodini delights in serving, another indication of Jesus'
molding. Eagerly studying the Bible, Pramodini believes
Jesus is coming soon and wants to prepare for His return --
an amazing insight and goal for one so young! May she
continue to focus heavenward and the radiant bride He
desires her to be when He returns for her.
